~ Our 2011 Shutterfly Album ~

Today I got a $20 off code in my email from Shutterfly.  I took that as the kick in the pants I needed to go ahead and order my 2011 family book I make every year.   I used my Scentsy rewards card to pay for the balance and basically ended up not having to pay any money out of pocket for my album.  This one is smaller than usual.. mainly because I waited until late December to finally do it.  I am happy to say I have already started our 2012 album.

Here is our 2011 album -

Merry Christmas from Melissa @ A Dozen Years Later

Since I am pretty sure the 25 Christmas cards I sent out have made it to their recipients, here is our 2011 Christmas card.  I took this photo of Madison myself and you can see the Newport, Rhode Island bridge in the background.  Merry Christmas from our home to yours.

Our Shutterfly Christmas Cards

I decided to stop being such a Scrooge and to send out Christmas cards after all... So this morning we headed to downtown Newport to take some photos of Madison along the water.

When I came home I made three different cards and then I let my husband choose his favorite (which is the one I just ordered... and I only had to pay $6.41) which is basically tax and shipping thanks to a code I won on a blog for free cards.

Here are the two cards from Shutterfly we didn't go with... I will post the one we chose after they have reached our friends and family.

Day 16 & 17 - Monday Morning Ramblings....

I'm combining days 16 and 17  because I forgot to blog yesterday.... it just slipped my mind.

---------------------------------------------------

*My first meeting for my new job is today at 9:15. I think I will just have to introduce myself and then it will be a lot of listening... I have to call in from my phone and log in from my computer.

*After my meeting ends I am taking a nap.  I was up most of the night last night because I didn't feel well and couldn't sleep and I am exhausted.

*I had a repeat customer place an order last night from my baking business.  That makes me super happy.  I am making these little goodies for Madison's school's bake sale... how cute are they?  I made a sample one last week.  It is a split chocolate cupcake layered with butter cream frosting, sprinkles, and a candy pumpkin.

*My mom is flying into town on Friday.  I am letting Maddie stay home from school and we are going to pick her up from the airport.  Then we will do lunch and some shopping.  Saturday we have to go to my cousin's bridal shower in Boston... so that should be fun.

*Sunday we are taking Maddie to the Melting Pot for her birthday dinner.  She won't be 12 until Tuesday but we wanted to celebrate while my mom was here.  She is currently obsessed with anything French so I ordered these candy molds on Amazon last week.  They should arrive tomorrow.  I am going to make little Eiffel Tower candies to use as toppers for birthday cupcakes.

* I am beginning to think of Christmas card ideas for this year.  I am not sure if I want to order them or if I want to design my own.  I am kind of holding out to see if Shutterfly does that great deal for bloggers again... where if you blog about their Christmas cards you get a free set.  Has anyone heard anything?

-----------------------------------

I am linking this post up over at lowercase letters for Miscellany Monday.

*This morning once Madison left for school I put this BBQ chicken in the crock pot.  I hope it turns out good.

Guess WHOOO Moved?

I created these announcements to announce our move.  Today when I got a coupon code from Shutterfly for 50 FREE prints... I uploaded the JPEG file and placed my order.  It ended up costing me about $3.20 for just the shipping.  I am so excited for them to come so I can share them with our family and friends.  If you are moving soon...and you are interested in a personalized digital file, leave a comment and let me know and I will contact you to create one for you.  I can even add more or less owls for you...and change the color of the leaves on the tree.

{This...obviously is not our personal information...I changed it so I could share the design with you}

My Version of Project 365

Project 365 where you take a photo a day has been around on the blog world for a bit.  I have always been interested in it.  If you are new to Project 365 you can read about it {here} on Photojojo.

I took my photo on Saturday.  It is a terrible camera phone photo I snapped Saturday night before bed. Here it is -

Umm...and then I forgot a Sunday photo.  I screwed up on Day #2.  But guess what? Today I remembered to take a photo.  Madison and I headed to Target after school to pick up a few things.  But first we stopped at the Target cafe for one of her favorite snacks - Pizza Hut bread sticks and a Dr. Pepper.  Hopefully my husband doesn't read this.  We are trying to only buy NEEDS...not WANTS...I don't think he will believe she NEEDED this snackI snapped a photo.  Here it is -

I do not plan on keeping my photos on my blog...although they may appear here from time to time.  I set up my Project 365 through a Shutterfly photo book.  I love making these books.  Tonight I set up a 5 x 7 album.  I will have 3 small photos with 3 captions on each page.  Each time I take a photo, I will add it to the book along with a little caption to describe the photo.  They will not always be photos of Madison.  They can be photos of other people, places, or things.  The possibilities are endless.

I really hope yesterday is the only day I forget to snap a photo.  I think this will turn out to be an amazing memento for Madison.  I look forward to sharing it with her at the end of 2011.   We are hoping for a great year.

Do you do the Project 365? If so, share your link.  I would love to take a look.

Our 2010 Christmas Cards....for FREE

I have spent hours looking at Shutterfly's website trying to come up with the perfect holiday card to send out this year to our friends and family -as this is our first official Christmas as a married couple/family.   Tonight I spent about two more hours playing around on their website trying to find the perfect layout to match the photo I wanted to use.  I looked at every possible option.  I even created about 10 cards until I found the perfect one.  I love using lime green at Christmas - it is one of my favorite colors and so I was so happy to find this card which incorporates lime green.  Oh...I forgot to mention the FREE part.  Shutterfly offered a special promotion to bloggers...so I ended up saying over $100...gotta love Shutterfly and their awesome deals.  Here it is...what do you think?
