Umm...Games Your Mom Plays...

My mom has an iPad and recently she has become hooked on Words with Friends.  She plays with all of us: me, Chris, and Maddie.

Last night we were playing...and this appeared on my screen...  Look at the last two words she played -

I just about fell off of my chair.

We're Hosting a Pool Party

I agreed to let Madison host a pool party to celebrate the end of 6th grade.  The neighborhood we lives in has a pool and a room they call a cabana you can rent for parties.  So this week I reserved the cabana.  Tonight I designed the invitations.  I just need to print them and have her pass them out.  Here they are {with our personal information blacked out thanks to Picnik}-

I have been busy searching Pinterest for all sorts of ideas to make the pool party amazing. I have been filling up a board with pool party ideas.

Here is some of my pinspiration...

I am definitely going to make these cupcakes.  I just love them.

Then I am going to make these popcorn paper cones...except I am going to use bright and fun colors for the paper.

Then I am going to give these out for favors...except I am going to make a bright and colorful topper and I am going to include bright colored gumballs.

I still have some more planning to do and definitely some crafting...but wanted to give a sneak peak of what I have in the works.

Summer Subway Art - Printable

I made this fun printable to submit for a contest for Print Candee to win a $25 credit on their Facebook fan page.  I used Print Candee clip art to create it.  I uploaded it to my local printer and cannot wait to pick it up and frame it for my bookshelf.   It prints great in an 8x10 {the actual printable doesn't have the border around it}.  If you would like one for personal use only, leave a comment with your email and I will send you one.

Check out my Print Candee giveaway {here} that is going on now.

New Photos of Maddie By Our Wedding Photographer

My initial plan was to have our wedding photographer, Amy Sandoval Photography, take photos of the three of us outside of home before our big summer move to Rhode Island.

Well on the day she came, my husband was super sick and in bed.  So I had her just shoot Maddie.  I am so happy how they turned out.  Since my latest obsession is photos on canvas...I was excited to find a Groupon today for a 16x20 canvas {worth $124.95} from Picture it on Canvas - a place where I have ordered from before.  I just need to figure out which ones I want to order.

I also found this great tutorial from Blue Cricket Design by The Sassy Pepper on how to make your own photo canvases.  Check it out here. I am going to attempt to do this with some smaller photos to see how it turns out.

Here are some of my favorites -

Sunday Ramblings...

First of all, I have a great giveaway going on here... check it out.  It is for Print Candee digital clip art/papers.

I booked my very first real life baking job on Friday night.  I am going to be doing wedding cupcakes for my college roommate.  I am honored to be working on this job.  I have been busy browsing Pinterest for ideas and checked out some things today at A.C. Moore.  I cannot wait to share what I come up with.  It will be a great starting point for my baking business.

I have been doing some small jobs for the photographer who shot my wedding in exhange for photos she took for me the other week.  On Saturday I assisted her with a boudoir photo shoot.  She booked a fabulous hotel room.  She shot three different ladies.  It was a lot of fun.  I cannot wait to see how the photos turned out for these ladies...as well as to see my photos which will be finished this week.  Here is the living room in the suite we had as well as the food set up I did {photos using the Instagram feature on my IPhone}.

Friday Confessionals -

I am participating in Friday Confessionals today -

Photobucket

I confess that ...

  • I am too lazy to get photos for most of my confessions today.
  • I am finding it really hard to be motivated at work with just 9 days left...
  • I have a ton of stuff to get done before our move and I better get on it.
  • I love to read, but have been horrible about reading lately.
  • I secretly love when I can turn my blog blosts into bulleted lists.  Every single one of my students know what bullets are because I use them all of the time and make them use them too.
  • We have eaten out entirely too much this week... it's hot and I do not feel like cooking...and we are going out tonight too.  Oh well.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I am sort of late linking it up with This Kind of Love.

{Let me just say I took some of my photos with my IPhone...I edited them to be facing the correct way...and I am not sure why they are sideways...sorry}

(1) A Day Off

Madison wasn't feeling well yesterday so we left school early.  She still wasn't feeling well last night so I called out sick.  Around lunch time she started to feel better so we ran to Hallmark for some cards and came across this ($46.00) which I really wanted...but would rather pay less.

Then we headed next door to have lunch at Moe's (Madison's favorite place).

I think it is safe to say she is feeling better.

(2) A New Printable

Today I realized my Easter printable is still sitting in the frame on the bookshelf.  So I found a quote I love on Pinterest (by the way I look on this at least 5 times a day... I love it) and used Microsoft PowerPoint to make a printable for myself.  I uploaded up to Winkflash and I cannot wait for it to come so I can replace the Easter one.  It is an 8x10, so if you are interested, leave a comment and let me know and I will email it to you.

(3) More Stuff

I am also loving my family, the fact that school is almost over, that our pool is open, Words with Friends, and various other things...but I want to get in bed early...and I want to read some more of my book.  So this will be short.

HELP ME!! I Cannot Post Comments!!

I cannot get my comments to the blogs I am reading...

What is going on??

I tried reading in Blogger...doesn't work, it asks me to log in, so I log in, and it still won't accept my comments.

I tried reading in Google Reader, clicked on the actual blog post, tried to leave a comment, and it does the same thing.

What in the world?

Does anyone have any tips and/or suggestions? I have lots of commenting to d0.
