Spring PINspiration

I am have been pinning lots of fun Easter and spring things.  Here are a few of my favorites.

These Smores/Peeps treat bags are adorable.

I am pretty sure this veggie/bread bunny tray would be a huge hit on Easter.

These Cadbury creme egg brownies look great.

I really need to make some of this bunny bark.

Things That Make Me Laugh

I cannot help but laugh when I see these... so funny... and so true. I thought today would be a good day to share as I could use a few good laughs today.

Pinterest Inspired Clothespin Frame

This lovely Pinterest pin inspired me to create my own version to add to my gallery wall in the hall.

This is the one I created.  I used an old frame, some cute little clothespins I found in the $1.50 bin at Michaels, some twine, and some Instagram photos I had printed through Postal Pics.   I actually wrapped the twine around the brads in the back of the frame and then added a little glue to secure them.  I think it probably could use a few more photos, but overall I love how easy it was to do and how it looks.

Floral Canvas Art - The Great Pinterest Challenge

I love how this turned out.  It was another super easy Pinterest inspired project.  I started by painting an 8x10 canvas with black paint.  Then I gathered up some scrapbook paper that I already had and cut out a circle for the center and a bunch of petals.  I made my arrangement and then used some tacky glue to stick everything down.  Once that was finished, I covered it with a layer of Mod Podge.

This project was inspired by this pin

Photo Strip Canvas - The Great Pinterest Challenge

Here is my photo strip canvas.  This was super simple to make.  I used a 4x12 canvas, black paint, Mod Podge, and three photos I took with Instagram and had printed with the PostalPix app.  First I painted the canvas black.  Then I trimmed my photos.  I used Mod Podge to adhear them to the canvas.  Then I added another layer of Mod Podge.  It is now hanging in our entry way next to our closet.  I have another one in the works for my mother.  She currently has three grandchildren, so I am making one with a photo of each of them.

I got my pinspiration from here -

OH, How PINTERESTing...

Today I am sharing some of the best things I have found on Pinterest lately.  I love to "pin" and do it usually several times a day.  Feel free to follow my boards that may interest you {here}.  If you are a pinner, leave a link for me to follow you.  I am always looking for more "pin"spiration.

A birthday party printable.. I love the colors.  This would be fun to display next to the presents or cake.

Asian Flank Steak Skewers... I always order these when we get Chinese... they are my favorite.  I cannot wait to try them at home.

Coffee Cake Muffins... I have the ingredients on hand.  I need to try these.

I love this fun gallery wall.  I have been gathering pieces to make mine.  I need to get things framed and put up. I love that alphabet paper in the frame below.

Homemade Tagalongs.  Madison can put away from Tagalongs.  I need to try to make the homemade version.

Oreo Poke Cake ~ A Pinterest Fail For Me

Yesterday I talked about our meal plan for the week which included this dessert -

I made it this afternoon... and I wasn't impressed.  It tasted like pudding on top of cake.  That is it.  I also think that I let the pudding sit for too long before pouring it over the cake because even though I made a ton of holes... the pudding didn't seem to fill in the holes.

Add this one to my Pinterest fails.

"Pin"spiration for Weekly Meal Planning

Saturday evening while watching a Lifetime movie I worked on our meal plan and grocery list for the week.  Pinterest has been such a source of "pin"inspiration for my meal planning lately.

Sunday – Baked Rigatoni & garlic bread

Monday – Ranch House Chicken (crockpot), mashed potatoes & corn

Tuesday - Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice and Sweet & Sour Chicken

I am going to use this sauce over some chicken chunks I am going to cook up in our wok.

Wednesday- Buffalo Chicken Wraps &  Oven Baked Fries

Thursday – Subway for dinner after Madison finishes babysitting

I also plan on doing some baking this week.  I am sending in some desserts to Madison's school this week for an event -

DIY LOVE - Making Your Own Rug From Fabric = Super Easy

My in real life friend (back when I had those...when we lived in Virginia) made this RUG and posted it on her BLOG.  Kara is way super crafty... way more so than me and I love/need/want a new rug like this.  I am hoping she will read this post, the email I sent her, and the comment I just left on her blog... and make me one... and mail it to Rhode Island.

All you need is some fabric and a few supplies from Home Depot or Lowes and you can make one too!!  Isn't is amazing??

I am thinking something fun and colorful and bright... and chevron like this would be perfect -

Friday Randoms...

1. I mentioned earlier this week that my boss approached me about working more hours in 2012.  Well this afternoon she called me to offer me more hours starting next Monday.  So of course I said yes.  I will be working 28-32 hours a week beginning Monday.  This couldn't have come at a better time.  I really do enjoy my job.

2. Last night I made "homemade" pizza.  I used a technique my blogger friend, Brandy discussed on her blog and the pizza turned out amazing.  I preheated the oven, then I put the pizza stone in until it was hot.  Then I placed my rolled out dough on the hot stone, added sauce, cheese, and toppings, and then baked it for about 16 minutes at 450 degrees.  It was so good.  The bottom was crispy (unlike when I usually make it).  I will be definitely making my pizzas this way from now on.  Thanks Brandy.  Next week I need to try her bbq chicken pizza.

3. I feel better physically.  My energy is back.  Those crazy painful pains have ceased.  I go to the doctor today for a follow-up apppointment.  Since I have to go... I will be taking a trip to Target and treating myself to lunch at Panera beforehand. I did have a little meltdown yesterday... but I think that is to be expected.

4. I am working on a fun hand painted sign.  It will say "Today I Will Choose Joy".  I definitely think it is a good reminder for every day.   I used a technique I pinned on Pinterest to transfer the letters to the painted wood.  Here is a little sneak peak

5. I really need to get a move on with my Christmas shopping.  I have purchased 3 items for Madison.  That is it.  I am going to place an Amazon order soon which will knock out most of my list.

6. I downloaded a free app for my phone the other day.  Now I can not only read my blogs in Google Reader from my phone, but I downloaded a Blogger app where I can blog from my phone.  This is what it looks like if you are interested -

Stop PINning... Start Doing...

If you are anything like me you probably PIN a ton of stuff... but never get around to making any of it yourself.  I have decided this week will be different.

I will be making two of these ornaments - one using OUR wedding invitation and one using my cousin's wedding invitation (she is getting married this weekend).  Isn't this a fun and easy idea?

Next I have high hopes to make this canvas for my bedroom.

And maybe if I am feeling motivated I may even whip up a batch of these three ingredient peanut butter cookies.

If you are a constant pinner like me... who has way more pins to do than pins you have done, I encourage you to challenge yourself to choose two pins to work on this week.  Then make a board called Things Pinterest Inspired Me to Make like I did... and you can move those pins over there.
